International Business Resources

The DC Chamber is supportive of efforts by the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development (DMPED) as it seeks to develop trade relationships with countries around the world. These efforts are already attracting foreign investment and businesses to DC to further diversify our economic base.

DMPED’s first international office was the DC China Center, which is strategically located in Shanghai—China’s most economically dynamic city. The Center is well placed to help DC companies gain a foothold in the China market and to serve as a point of contact for Chinese firms looking to invest in the District. Established in 2012, the DC China Center is a public-private partnership whose mission is to develop the commercial relationship between Washington, DC and China.
