Marco Sernesi, Senior Director of International Business Strategy

With more than 20 years of experience across the globe, Marco Sernesi is an innovative thinker with extensive experience in Strategic Business Planning & Development and Business Intelligence. He collaborates with Lang Strategies LLC on various projects, applying his analytical skills in performing targeted market research and assessing risks/benefits.

Marco began his career in the technology world, where he spent 10 years. His work evolved into the technical marketing/business development arena, where he managed projects in Europe, Asia and the U.S. for three different Fortune 100 companies. Marco has also focused his expertise on international trade where he demonstrated a strong knowledge of international transactions, best business practices, product marketing and project management. He has served as manager of Business Development at the DC Chamber of Commerce for the past six years, where he developed business connections in the public and private sectors while fully grasping the social, business and political climate of the city.

While at the DC Chamber, Marco developed and maintained meaningful relationships with key business leaders while exceeding revenue quotas for the sales team. He analyzed organizational processes and procedures and built methods to improve customer relationships, sales and operational excellence. He has also developed sales channels and strategic plans for international companies, generating millions of dollars of revenue for clients.

Marco holds a MS in Physics from the University of Florence, Italy, and a Post Grad degree in Business Management from the University of California, San Diego.

Marco is an Italian national and speaks English, Spanish, German and Portuguese. He has lived and traveled around the world, becoming acquainted with many different cultures and ways of doing business. In his spare time he likes traveling, reading and drawing. He also has a passion for cars, even though he is happy not driving in DC.
