Lang Strategies’ Italy Trip Builds Business, Relationships and Awareness of U.S. Economy

Newest practice area, partnership impetus for overseas trip

Milan, Italy (July 18, 2016) – Three months ago, Barbara Lang, Managing Principal and CEO of Lang Strategies, sat in her Georgetown office finalizing the partnership with Italian firm Marazzi & Advisors and preparing to welcome the firm to Washington, DC to formalize the agreement. This week, Lang and members of her team embarked on a trip to various cities across Italy including Rome, Milan, Bergamo and Pavia, meeting with business leaders, political dignitaries and other officials in an effort to build business, cultivate relationships and inform them about the business climate and economic development in the United States. The trip comes after the recent announcement of Lang Strategies’ newest practice area: International Business Development and Cultural Transition Services.

“The partnership with Marazzi allows us to connect with officials from business and government seeking opportunities in the United States and contributing to our economy domestically and globally,” said Lang, who added that she and her team completed nearly 30 meetings with key decision-makers over the last week. Lang and her company will also host a trade mission Italy with several companies in October. “There was a tremendous amount of work and synergy over this past week with the leaders we spoke to each day, and we look forward to spending more time developing business in Italy and making it easy for these organizations to do business in the U.S.”

Lang and her team met with representatives from such industries as political consulting, lobbying, aerospace, information technology, hospitality and business associations, to name a few. In addition to establishing and fostering relationships, and building networks, Lang and her team also created awareness of what organizations can expect when doing business in the U.S., the transition needed for success and the overall economic climate.

Adds Lang, “While we look forward to expanding our newest practice area, this is bigger than that. This is about expanding our economy and creating new markets here and overseas.”
